The CGIA Institute has announced the appointment of M. Nurul Alam, CGIA, to its Global Council, the highest decision body of the Institute.
The CGIA Institute is a leading global membership-based professional body of finance and investment professionals, setting international standards for ethical investment practices in the finance and investment management industry.
The Institute provides the Chartered Global Investment Analyst (CGIA®) designation and hosts some of the industry’s leading events.
Nurul Alam has over 40 years of work experience in MNCs. He served in GSK Bangladesh as Internal Auditor and Head of Company Secretariat, He served Egypt-based OrascomTelecom Bangladesh as Company Secretary and Head of Internal audit.
He is the CEO at MNA Associates (Corporate Compliance Consulting and Auditing firm) as well as Senior Vice President at Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh and Vice President at The Institute of Internal Auditors Bangladesh.
Mr. Alam previously served as a member of the Global Operational team of the CGIA Institute and now leads the Institute’s activities in Bangladesh and Asia-Pacific.
The Global Council is the highest decision-making body of the Institute, tasked with reviewing and making decisions on all parts of the Institute’s strategy and policy to shape and respond to developments that will affect the organization.
The Council members are collectively responsible to the public for setting and maintaining ethical and professional standards and making sure the Institute members work consistently and honestly.
Following his appointment, Mr. Alam expressed his gratitude and commitment to executing his mandate as a Global Council member for the development of the CGIA Institute and raising ethical finance and investment professionals globally.
