M Nurul Alam is the CEO at MNA Associates (Corporate Compliance Consulting and Auditing firm). He is Senior Vice President at Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh and Vice President at The Institute of Internal Auditors Bangladesh. He is holding the Independent Director position in the board of two listed companies. He has been serving as a volunteer to the development of corporate governance and Internal Audit Profession for 16 years.

Alam has spoken on the corporate compliance and internal audit at many international conferences including IIA and ICSI IC held in various countries including Rome, Italy, Dubai, UAE, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Armenia, Singapore and India.

Alam is a seasoned professional having 41 years of work experience in the corporate arena in the top management positions.

Alam worked as Internal Auditor of GSK Bangladesh for 26 years. He worked as Head of Internal Audit and Company Secretary of Orascom Telecom Bangladesh Ltd. He worked as Country Compliance Officer of VEON Ltd (an international telecom service provider) Headquartered in the Netherlands and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of VEON’s subsidiary Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd for 12 years.

He worked as Deputy Managing Director at Prime Islami Life Insurance Limited. He also worked as CEO with special assignment for transformation of the losing company Prime Islami Securities Ltd to be sustainable and he also served as the Chief Governance Officer and CAMLCO of a fast growing MFS company NAGAD Ltd in Bangladesh.

M Nurul Alam received his post-graduation degree in Accounting from the Chittagong University, Bangladesh in 1994. He received the professional degree of Chartered Secretary from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh in 2004 and was awarded with fellowship in the year 2009. He received Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional-International certification from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) USA in 2017.
