CGIA Network Bangladesh holds its 2021 Charter Awards

The CGIA Network Bangladesh, a member network of the Chartered Global Investment Analysts Institute, on Sunday, September 26, 2021 held it’s 2021 Charter Awards.

The Awards ceremony, which had both physical and virtual attendance was successfully held at the Dhaka Stock Exchange in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The CGIA Institute is a globally recognised professional body of finance and investment professionals setting global standards for ethical investment practices for the finance and investment management industry.

The Institute provides the Chartered Global Investment Analysts (CGIA) designation.

The programme was presided over by M Nurul Alam, FCS, CGIA, President, CGIA Network Bangladesh.

Tarique Amin Bhuiyan, Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Limited was the Chief Guest of the Programme.

DSE’s former MD Kazi Sanaul Hoq, FCGIA, who’s also a Fellow member of the CGIA Institute, was the guest of honor. Md Sayadur Rahman, president of Bangladesh Merchant Bank Association was the special guest of the programme.

Keynote speaker was Saied Mahmud Zubayer, CGIA, Vice President of CGIA Network Bangladesh.

In his remarks, Mr. Peter E. Welch, FCGIA, who’s the President of the CGIA Institute charged the new Charterholders of Bangladesh to uphold in high esteem, the ethical standards which is the cornerstone for a prosperous finance and investment management industry for Bangladesh.

“Our students represent who we really are and become our ambassadors. They worked really hard through the three tiers and can now reap the rewards. Transparency, honesty and ethics must become the cornerstone of all and every investment activity.

DSE MD Tarique said “I believe that the CGIA Charter holders will play a significant role to develop the capital market of Bangladesh as a lot of products and investment vehicles will come in near future in the capital market.”

A total of twenty-two (22) new members received their membership and charter certificates at this year’s program.
